StartZone's Business Tax Center Ready to Help

Start Zone, a program out of Highline Community College, offers free Schedule C tax preparation workshops and tax filing assistance to low-income households with self-employment income.
Step 1: Attend Tax Prep Workshop
Our three-hour workshop will help you get organized for tax season. You'll learn about Schedule C's profit and loss statement, the information you'll need to complete it, and bookkeeping tips to keep you organized for next year's tax season. Although the workshop focuses on sole proprietors, corporate filers and business filers who don't have reportable income will also find the workshop useful.
Tax Prep Workshops are offered at Highline Community College on:
· March 10th - 6:00pm to 9:00pm
· March 13th-9:30am to 12:30pm
· February 10th - 6:00pm to 9:00pm
· March 27th-9:30am to 12:30pmP

Step 2: Apply for Free Tax Help
Business owners with total household income under $50,000 may qualify for free volunteer tax filing assistance at our Business Tax Center. Applications are available at our Tax Prep workshops. We will contact applicants to schedule an intake appointment.
Step 3: File Tax Return
Meet with a professionally supervised trained volunteer who will help you complete your 1040, Schedule C and other forms.
The Business Tax Center is located on the Highline campus (click here for driving directions and a campus map) and is open from 4-6pm on Mondays and Thursdays starting January 11, 2010.
